Digital Strips the Comic Update

Today’s comic is a little reflection on the differences of opinion that goes on around here at Digital Strips. It is also my clever attempt to tie in the random strip I posted in the last second during the last comic update. I’m showing two versions, the color and black and white versions. I’ve been playing around with coloring the strips recently and I am still not sure which I prefer. Let me know which one you think is best. Continue reading

Digital Strips Comic Moving to Thursdays

I’ve decided to move the Digital Strips comic updates to Thursdays instead of updating them with the show posts. I’ve found myself working on both the show and the comic on weekends, but I should really concentrate on one of them at a time. This will space out the main updates for the site anyway. So, until this Thursday here is a totally random and meaningless comic to tide you over.

Digital Strips: The Comic, Fan Mail

Here is this week’s comic. I know it’s a little wordy this time around, but this comic is a little cathartic for me. Before I get 50 emails from people all claiming that I’m making fun of them in the strip just know that this scenario has played itself out many times since we’ve started doing what we do.

When you send us an email asking for a review of your strip you have to be prepared to take the bad with the good. I’m sure everyone who writes reviews runs into this eventually. Continue reading

Webcomic Telethon Extends Extra Day, Digital Strips Contributes

As you all know the Webcomic Telethon has been running for the past two days, updating the site every 20 minutes with new comics donated from cartoonists across the web and asking people to donate to the Red Cross Hurricane Katrina relief effort. According to Brad Guigar, telethon organizer and patron saint of web comics, the response has been so big and so positive the telethon has been extended by at least a day. Over $26,00.00 has been raised so far making this whole effort a resounding success. Continue reading

    Digital Strips Comic Update: Furries?

I’m sort of sneaking this one up there by updating outside the normal show posting schedule. This comic is mostly a self indulgence. I’ve been watching my Thundercats season 1 DVD set and I just had to find a way to work it into the strip. Take note that I did draw the logo myself, but I totally cheated on the wording. I found a font online and used that. Any way, here it is: Continue reading

Ryan Estrada is currently attempting to complete a 168 hour comic. He has sequestered himself in a trailer in order to work in a controlled environment and is actually nearing the end. At the time of this post Ryan has announced on his site that he just past hour 133, which already breaks the record for continuous comic creation.

Digital Strips : The Beginning – part 3

The continuing story of how Daku and Zampzon created Digital Strips continues in today’s epic tale. Well, sort of. I have started collecting the DS comics in the gallery section of our site, so if you’ve missed the previous ones you can find them there. Soon I’ll set up a regular web comic system with the usual “next”, “back”, “first”, “latest” links.

I’m going to start posting new DS comics with the show posts to give everyone a little added treat. I hope everyone is enjoying them. Continue reading

Digital Strips … The Beginning Continues

Another Digital Strips comic to continue the tale that follows the beginnings of our humble project here. I’ve toned down the maimings of my partner and have instead turned to public humiliation. Hopefully I didn’t cram in too much background this time.

I abandoned the hand drawn word balloons for this one and went with the PhotoShop created ones. I find it easier to place the dialogue after the fact, but I do love having a completed Continue reading
