Last week saw a TON of great wrestling coming out of WWE, and we talk about it all on this episode! Topics include: who had the match of the night at TakeOver; can Steve tell any tag team partners apart; a plea to get someone different booking SmackDown Live; why both Rumbles were very good this year; more Lesnar and Strowman mad at each other, please; more very, very good character work in the Mixed Match Challenge, please; Strowman dominates RAW and THE BOSS IS BACK; John Cena’s no good, very bad, horrible Rumble weekend; and why Tyler Bate is our MVP of the Week.
RAW turned 25, but we really don’t feel any different. Enzo Amore is no more-ay and 205 Live will get its first GM next week. And Vince reminded us he’s still far out of touch with an announcement about the XFL. It’s been a crazy week, and that’s even mentioning: Stone Cold still delighting, lots of smiling and waving at RAW 25, what worked and what didn’t at that show, screwy alignments in the SDL title picture still have us confused, the first-ever pin from a Blue Thunder Bomb (congrats, Sami!), the Mixed Match Challenge is still a delight, we were reintroduced to TM 61, plus our hopes and dreams (and fears) for TakeOver and the Rumble. Whew! With all that going on, we had to double the length! Hope you enjoy the wrastlin this weekend!
WWE has learned that Strowman is money, so he dominated the first hour of Raw; indie security fodder, Hawkins-chucking, and chocolate cake loving ensue and it’s wonderful. Also wonderful this week: Asuka/Jax impresses, Jason Jordan is still the smartest man, The Revival is here to WRESTLE (don’t check YouTube), Elias finds a new gig, Seth welcomed back an old friend, the U.S. Title was decided, Fashion Files still delights (even if it’s harder to find), shut off your brain and enjoy the Mixed Match Challenge, check out all the new signings, Hardy promises the Broken-verse is coming, and please, WATCH NXT.
Look around backstage, you never know who, or what, you might find! Strowman’s brute strength is again our highlight this week, but there are other items worth nothing, like: Rusev deserves all of the … accolades, Jordan is still the smarmiest, slimiest heel on Raw, Paige hears some bad news, Matt and Bray inch closer to a new thing, TJP throws a fit after a CWC rematch, Titus and Apollo make it a win, exasperated Joe is the best Joe, Dakota Kai is a really good sport, and Shane is still the worst. Finally, just how DOES one watch a Facebook Watch?
Celebrate the new year with a new episode of Pro Grapplers! It’s been a while, but we’re barreling towards the Royal Rumble, and the various stories are taking shape. We’re still thankful that every day is Rusev Day, but can we trust WWE to take it more seriously than they did the Fashion Police? Also, is Shane just a dick, or is something more sinister coming from his rivalry with Daniel Bryan? Matt Hardy is now Woken, but will he ever do more than just laugh a lot? Will we ever find a reason to hate Samoa Joe? And can this please, PLEASE be Kane’s final shot at a title?
Another Rumble and TakeOver are in the books! TakeOver delivered, despite a less awe-inspiring roster, and the Rumble show was overall an entertaining one. But what happened to all the big men in the Rumble proper? Did the Beef Cart (pictured, left) bring them misfortune? Is Kevin Owens regretting his new hobby of building intricate stacks of metal chairs? Was there too much Rumble pre-show going on? Does Big Cass have to carry a spray bottle around with him to keep Enzo from humping everything, including fried chicken? The answers to these questions and more, in this, the pre-pre-Elimination Chamber show!

The time is upon us! Once again, a weekend has come that brings us both a WWE event and an NXT TakeOver … takeover. After Goldberg nearly cost the WWE their Wrestlemania plans because he wanted to really sell that promo with a little hardway blood, where will he place in the Rumble match? Will Shaq be in the match? Will Curt Hawkins be in the match? Will the women stand out at all? Is Tye Dillinger the best story going in NXT right now? Answers to those questions and so much more in this super-sized episode that is appropriately bigger in Texas.
The Royal Rumble is nearly here, and our biggest problem is TOO MANY MONSTERS! Meanwhile, Sami has a new character and it’s … different. Also, Charlotte fought a wavy tube man, Bray hit his son, Dolph tried to kill The King (again), and Mickie James made her return to the main roster! Time to reset and do all this stuff again! WHEEEEEEEEEEEE!
The road to the Royal Rumble continues, with not a Roadblock in sight! RAW was pretty terrible this week, so the guys instead focus on Smackdown, NXT, and even NJPW to find the good in the grappling. They wrestle with the following questions: Who will win the 2017 Royal Rumble? Is it possible that entrance themes play magically upon proximity to an entry way? Did Carmella fight an old lady? Will Tozawa save us from a lackluster 205 Live product? Is an Intergalactic Championship on the way?
