Inverloch is a fantasy tale that has a lot of appeal even for non-fantasy readers like me. The story is easy to follow, and author Sarah Ellerton creates a universe that is different enough to be interesting but close enough to real life that it's not confusing. With over 660 pages up on the site right now, and new pages roughly twice a week, the story is nearing its climax and many of the initial questions have been answered, making this a good time to jump in and start reading.

Child’s Play Looks to Help Even More Kids this Year.
It's that time of years again. Doesn't it seem like people put Christmas decorations up earlier and earlier every year? Place third cliché holiday time intro here. But along with all the other hustle and/or bustle the end of the year is a time for the Web comics and video games communities to rally behind two of our biggest heroes and show the world that we're not as anti-social or greedy as they say we are. Of course, I'm talking about Child's Play.? Continue reading
Webcomic Idol Voting Starts Today ~OR~ It’s An Honor Just To Be Nominated
Alright, this is it, folks!? The first round of voting to determine the first-ever Webcomic Idol starts today!? Click here to vote, not for your favorite, but for the strip you want voted off.? That’s right, it’s got the feel of American Idol but the voting system of Survivor.? Not a problem, just something to keep in mind as you’re clicking away in support of your favorite!
And yes, my strip is one of the lucky top ten, but I’ll be doing my best to give an unbiased report of the shenanigans, regardless of whether I’m still in or not.? If you think this is unfair or wrong, let us know and we’ll get someone else covering the event.? Thanks and get to votin’!
Interest Piquers #11 ~OR~ May The Best Man/Woman/Child Win!
Leave it to the ol’ boss man to steal the thunder of The Midnight Cartooner! Of course, he didn’t take ALL the good bits of news. I’ve still got a few more tidbits here and there that are certainly worth reporting on. And so, I shall!
- To start with though, I revisit an item that Daku already talked about, but which has piqued my interest for several reasons. Dave Kellett was finally able to take the pop-culture-driven, all-ages fun of Sheldon solo, dropping the support of a major syndicate in lieu of a more personal, self-published and run presentation. Our first guest is Kevin Volo who has recently turned his subscription site into an all free collective. In this episode we talk about:

Web Comic Wrap Up
One of these days I actually go out and find the news like we did when this site first started. Hopefully soon but considering how rl is treating me at the moment the future is looking bleak. For any of you who think my life is interesting you should find yourself a nice white jacket and a round room with rubber walls. Anyways, all life changing events aside I present to you the news in four parts.
Sheldon – Dave Kellett leaves United Media for Self-Publishing. It moved to its new home at Continue reading
Viper Comics Grows A Few More Fangs
For some reason I’ve always liked Viper Comics. It probably has something to do with You’ll Have That but then they seem like the kind of comic company all of could admire. Well they’ve wrapped up their web comic drive and instead of finding just one they’ve accepted 5. That’s taking their current number of 2 to a total of seven. Not bad for some guys who thought web comics would be interesting to get into.
Without further ado we present the new viper web comics:
Free manga on the web
Hi everyone! I’m Brigid, the newest member of Digital Strips. Some of you may be familiar with my other blog, MangaBlog. Daku invited me to join the crew here to talk about online manga.
I have a great manga to start off with, but you have to act fast: For the next two days, Tokyopop is making volume 1 of Dramacon available for free on the web. They have been adding one chapter a day, with the final chapter going up on November 8. After that, they will take all the chapters down. Their manga reader is pretty easy to use, but there’s a catch: To read more than the first few pages, you have to register on the site. As annoying as that is, registration is free and they won’t spam you.
Bringing The Print World To Your Screen
Every once in awhile Zampzon can’t resist sending me a bit of news that I wouldn’t have found in the normal channels. Considering the latest tidbit came from MacWorld its no wonder his email first exposed it to me. This article brings to light the “rise in digital comics” that is occurring thanks to Marvel releasing it’s old (40 years) comic series in digital format. The writer of this article, Jason Snell, abashedly admits his love for comics and goes on to describe the changing face of comic book companies.
Apparently Marvel has begun releasing complete runs in Continue reading
Interest Piquers #10 ~OR~ Catchin’ Up
Ok, so the move is now complete! I’ve uprooted my life for the fourth time in as many years and relocated to scenic, urban Richmond, VA! I REALLY loathed the idea of gathering up all my stuff AGAIN and reclaiming my nomadic ways AGAIN, but it’s the crazy things that we do for love, right?
But excuses are for the timid and the weak, and The Midnight Cartooner boasts some of the most incredible webcomic blogging abilities you’ll ever see! Take my lifting of this giant heap of webcomic news as an example of my awesome might! Continue reading
