Lulu.com Cancels Ryan Estrada’s Book Orders
As most people reading web comic related sites know, adventuring cartoonist Ryan Estrada recently completed the monumental task of drawing a 168 hour comic. After much fanfare and encouragement Ryan emerged from his trailer with a mountain of comic pages created over the course of one week. He promptly self published the entire enterprise using Lulu.com, a print to order online book publisher. Ryan posted a link to the online store and began telling everyone about Lulu and directing people to purchase his book there.

Free Audio Ads on the Digital Strips Podcast, Promote Your Comic
As we’ve discussed before on the site and on the show Daku and I have been thinking about adding audio ads to the Digital Strips podcast. Several of you want to take part.
However, audio ads are a controversial topic within podcasting circles. Many think this sort of thing detracts from Continue reading

Digital Strips Comic Update: Furries?
I’m sort of sneaking this one up there by updating outside the normal show posting schedule. This comic is mostly a self indulgence. I’ve been watching my Thundercats season 1 DVD set and I just had to find a way to work it into the strip. Take note that I did draw the logo myself, but I totally cheated on the wording. I found a font online and used that. Any way, here it is: Continue reading

Genesis 2 Tackles Evolution
We all like web comics that entertain but an art form can never mature until it does more then make you laugh. Editorials and opinion strips are an excellent example of strips which have elevated syndicates to the respected position in newspapers they currently have. This is where strips such as Genesis 2 steps in. In this strip we have Dan Beeston tackling the previously non-controversial but currently hot topic of Intelligent Design. From Dan:
Genesis 2 … is an explanation of evolution in an approachable form. My goal is to do more with the medium than simply entertain. I’m always trying to push it further and further.
