O1Comics, the webcomics publisher, just keeps growing and growing. New talent seems to be popping up all over for these guys. Here is another press release announcing yet another title for 01Comics. The Dreamland Chronicles is a fully 3D CG comic with some amazing production values. Here is what 01Comics has to say about it:

Alert and perceptive viewers of the TV show ‘How I Met Your Mother’ (CBS Mondays, 8:30 p.m., EST) may have noticed Alyson Hannigan with her copy of ‘Pure Ducky Goodness’ in this week’s episode. That book is the collection of Sheldon comic strips from one of my favorite creators, Dave Kellett. Dave is also a member of Blank Label Comics, the popular online webcomc creator group simply bursting with talent. You can see some screenshots from the TV show featuring the comic book here. Some of you may be wondering why I haven’t updated the Digital Strips comic in a while. The thing is I’ve been working on something new. I was so inspired by what Scott Kurtz and Chris Straub are doing with Blamimation that I decided to try something similar for our podcast. Wouldn’t it be great to see what we’re talking about as we talk about it? I’m still putting it together, but I should have something to show very soon. We’ll see if this works or not soon enough, but hang tight. At the very least, it should be interesting.
The Evil Network, a news blog that talks about all things ‘geek’, including webcomics, is having a change of heart. According to Nathaniel Payne they’ve decided that after over five years of being online the Evil Network really isn’t all that evil. So, they are appealing to readers and fans to help them rename the site to something more appropriate. You can find all the details in this post about what they are looking for. If you have any ideas let them know.
It seems as though there’s an animation craze going on in the webcomic world. Krishna’s techno riff comic, PC Weenies, has just dipped it’s toe into the waters of animated shorts with a recent update. The short animates the most recent single panel comic up on the site. It’s a great start, we’ll see where else it might lead to. I really like what he did with the visual, but some audio would be nice too, even if it was just music and sound effect here and there. Looks great though!
Some new action is afoot over at 01Comics according to this press release we got yesterday:

This week Brian Hart celebrates three years of his comic, Disassemlance, being online. Unfortunately, a personal computer crash coincides with the milestone and the last couple of comic posts haven’t quite been up to the usual high quality. But, three years in the webcomic world is still an accomplishment worth noting. Congrats Brian! You are now a level 3 Webcomic Cartoonist. You will get a +2 Pen of Inking for your troubles.
Webcomic cartoonist and all around adventurer Ryan Estrada is about to launch a new project in association with LiveJournal.com, the online blogging service. Ryan will be writing and drawing the weekly comic about Frank, the Live Journal goat mascot. Here’s a snippet from the press release:
“Cartoonist Ryan Estrada and Livejournal have teamed up to bring you ‘Frank: The Comic Strip’, coming Wednesday, January 18th to Livejournal.com. This new weekly comic series follows the online life of pseudo cyber-celebrity mascot Frank the Goat. Since most webcomics’ web sites we come across also include a blog from the creators I thought this might be of interest to our readers. Thanks to Stuart for forwarding this along to us.
