DS 82: Review of Red Dahlia

Digital Strips : Show 82
[8.82 MB]
This will be the first in a series of podcasts to take advantage of summer vacation. Here we have one of my favorite drawn strips in a long time. Join us as we explore this vampire version of Romeo and Juliet. Actually everyone is already dead so we can’t be romantic, we’ll just have to settle for vengence.

In this episode we talk about:

  • Red Dahlia by John Daiker and Amber “glych” Greenlee

    1. Wow, thanks for the review. ^_^

Originally, Red Dahlia was supposed to be an ongoing series updated once a year but life got in the way for both John and I and the story remains unfinished. There’s so much of the story that’s missing, it’s not even funny. I guess this is what happens when you write with decompressive storytelling with no payoff.

I am by no means a letterer so I completely agree with you on the sound effects and bubbles. The size of them was to make them readable due to the size it was originally published in. I guess this is what happens when you’re left without an editor to reel you in when you step too far.

Both John and I hadn’t even seen Underworld until after the Drunk Duck book was published. The similarities miffed us a bit to say the least when we both did get an opportunity to see the movie. It was another reason why we chose to discontinue the story.
