It’s the weekend, so we’re back again for another Saturday Shoutout!
Before we get to this week’s featured project, just a quick reminder about Steve and Jason’s latest episode which talked about the Midnight Radio Kickstarter. Although the project has already funded by now, you can still pre-order the book through the Kickstarter link, so don’t hesitate to check it out if the podcast piqued your interest!
And now, with no further ado, we’d like to introduce – Strangebeard! by Kelly Tindall
Strangebeard continues the recent Digital Strips trend of favouring webcomics about gender-bending pirates swashbuckling their way across the high seas. Tindall’s comic is a very cartoony look at the subject and is filled with the laughs and action you’d expect of a comic pitched at a younger audience than, say, Tiger, Tiger. It’s a pretty fun ride!
The best part about today’s shoutout, though, is that if you haven’t heard of the comic before — you’re in luck! The kickstarter running now is to print not only Volume 2, but to run a re-print of Volume 1 as well. So you can get two for one, and catch up immediately! How good is that?
You’ll have to be quick, though — Strangebeard 2: Electric Bugaboo only has until 26 May 2019 to fund. At the time of writing, the project was not yet funded, but with guest artists like Troy Little (who you might know from the comic adaptation of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas), Brenda Hickey (My Little Pony) and Tad Stones (Creator of Darkwing Duck) this is a Kickstarter you’re not going to want to miss out on — so check it out!
