Right after I post about the Small Press Expo I get another press release from them about their Ignatz Awards. I had wondered in my last post whether or not there would be a web comic presence and this new press release answers that question. The Ignatz awards include an award for online comics. Here are this years nominees for Outstanding Online Comic:

These awards are given out as a SPX festival prize to recognize outstanding achievement in comics and cartooning. The nominees were decided by a panel of five comic artists and will be voted on by the attendees at SPX September 23rd-24th. The panel for the 2005 Ignatz Jury are Jennifer Daydreamer, Shaenon Garrity, James Kochalka, Jeff Parker and Dan Zettwoch. The recipients of the awards will be announced at SPX in Bethesda, MD during the Ignatz Awards Ceremony, 9:00 pm on Saturday, September 24th, 2005.
